About Cayetano
From the spirit of the Parisian street cafes to Hong Kong’s underground clubs and from Berlin’s improvised parties to London’s smokey pubs, Giorgos Bratanis, best known by the stage name Cayetano is a modern storyteller to everyday life.

Ever since Bratanis was very young, he was involved with several indie bands and at the same time he was studying music. In 1995 he was a member of the popular band “Stroggylo Kitrino” (The Round Yellow). They released two albums, “Stroggylo Kitrino” in 1996 and “O Ksenos” (The Stranger”) in 1999 from the legendary “Lazy Dog Records”.

In 2000 he started travelling all over Europe and then stayed in Barcelona (Spain) until 2004. There he worked with several Spanish groups as a pianist and a bassist, toured with them in Spain, wrote music for theater and cinema, and made the dub-triphop-jazz oriented “Cayetano” project.

In 2006 he released from his own label “Sala Sonora”, the “Focused” album, which made him well-known to the public. He toured all over Europe, and the album was voted as one of the best albums of 2006 in more than 30 major radio stations in 14 countries. At the same year and because of this album, Cayetano was nominated for the French Prizes “Prix Radiophonie”.

In 2008 Cayetano signed with the label “Etage Noir” and produced Loopa Scava’s album “Loopa Scava meets Cayetano – Up and Down”, which was a massive success on the underground trip hop scene. His appearances in major festivals gave him the reputation he needed and he got numerous sold out gigs and his tracks on the most popular compilations and programs on TV.

Until now, he has 6 solo albums and he produced more than 10 albums for different artists such like SWORR, Loopa Scava and Telhanot. He wrote music for TV advertisements and numerous theatrical plays.

At the time Giorgos Bratanis has just finished his 8th studio album, to be expected in Autumn 2018, after almost two years of traveling and performing as a DJ in Southeast Asia.
